Organized as an Indiana nonprofit corporation, the University is devoted to Catholic theology, philosophy and related religious disciplines.

Mission

To advance the study of Catholic theology and philosophy through close reading, reasoned inquiry and engagement with the intellectual patrimony of the Church.

Vision

A community of learning that connects Catholic scholarship with the questions of contemporary life and the service of others.

Values

Intellectual honesty, fidelity to primary sources, respect for the person, dialogue and service.

Catholic identity

The University studies within the Catholic intellectual tradition, drawing on Scripture, the Fathers of the Church, scholastic and modern theology, and the Church’s magisterial texts.

Educational philosophy

Our educational approach centers on primary texts, sustained writing and dialogue. Academic work develops understanding, interpretation and the ability to construct an argument.

Institutional history

The corporation was formed in Indiana on September 21, 2026. PCU-USA operates as an online institution, with its U.S. mailing address in Indianapolis.

Message from the Presidency

To our students, faculty, scholars and friends: welcome to PCU-USA. The University was founded with a clear purpose—to cultivate a disciplined intellectual life in which faith, reason and serious scholarship strengthen one another. As an online academic community, we bring students and teachers together around primary texts, enduring questions and the patient work of study. We invite each member of this community to pursue knowledge with honesty, generosity and courage, and to place learning at the service of truth and the common good. We are honored to build this University with you. — Dr. Matheus H. N. Andreazzi, Ph.D., President of the University; Dr. Daniel H. C. Zamboni, Ph.D., Vice President.

Organisational structure

The University is directed by a governing board, with academic matters overseen by the academic leadership and standing committees. Named appointments are published on the Governance page as they are recorded.
