Official institutional policy
01
Academic honesty
Students must submit work that truthfully represents their authorship, sources and permitted assistance. Plagiarism, fabrication or falsification, unauthorized collaboration, impersonation, contract cheating, reuse of work without permission and obtaining or distributing protected assessment material are prohibited.
02
Use of artificial intelligence
The instructor identifies whether and how generative AI, translation, grammar, coding or research-assistance tools may be used for an activity. When allowed, the student remains responsible for accuracy, citations, confidential information and the final intellectual work, and must disclose material AI assistance in the manner required by the instructor.
Submitting generated content as one's own analysis when the activity requires independent authorship is misconduct. Automated detection scores alone do not establish a violation; they may prompt review but must be considered with the work, process evidence and the student's explanation.
03
Process and outcomes
Before an adverse finding, the student receives notice of the concern and a reasonable opportunity to respond. Outcomes are proportionate to the evidence, seriousness, academic impact and prior record, and may include resubmission, grade consequence, educational intervention, course failure, suspension or dismissal. The student may use the academic appeal process.
